The walk for life is run by Farleigh Hospice and this sponsored walk, takes in the beautiful Essex countryside whilst raising vital funds for people affected by life limiting illness. Enjoy a leisurely ramble, choosing from two scenic routes: a 12km walk from Papermill Lock to e2v Chelmsford, or a 24km walk from Heybridge Basin to e2v Chelmsford.
Both routes take walkers along the peaceful towpaths of the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation which runs through picturesque rural Essex. As the two routes are not circular, coaches will be available from Chelmsford to take you to the start of your chosen route.

A special thank you goes out to the Heart & Sole volunteer Walk Leaders, Chelmsford Youth Cycling Club volunteers and CTC volunteer Cycle Stewards who gave their evening to help the event run smoothly and guide everyone around the route. Also thank you to Anglia Ruskin University for hosting the event and providing the refreshments.
Some photographs of the event will be available to view soon on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/csawchelmsford. Please feel free to share any of your own photos to our Facebook page, using #summersolsticestride.
