What do I have to do to become a This Girl Can Ambassador?

To be a This Girl Can Ambassador it doesn’t take a lot . . .

The hope is that the This Girl Can Essex Ambassadors will help us celebrate Active Women in Essex, highlighting the fact that whatever your size, ability or previous experience, sport can be a fun and enjoyable part of every women’s life. We also want the Ambassadors to help inspire other women and girls in Essex to take part in more physical activity and help break down the primary barrier to why women don’t take part in sport and physical activity which is of fear of judgment.

For 2017 we have a 3 tied option for This Girl Can Ambassadors. We want as much help with this campaign as possible but encourage you to sign up at a level that is comfortable for you. Most of our activities last between 30min-1hr and you may need to be at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to the start of the activity to welcome participants that arrive for the activity. You may also need to be available at the end to answer any queries and encourage socialising.

For Heart and Sole Walk Leaders only – Quarterly meetings are held at the Council’s Civic Offices. The meetings offer the opportunity to meet other Walk Leaders/Volunteers to set the rota’s and discuss matters arising. While not compulsory, it would be beneficial for you attend the meetings if possible.
